Our people in Uganda

Build Africa enjoys a very special partnership with the rural communities of Uganda. Since 1996 our commitment to a sustainable community driven education and business programme has given Ugandans the chance to escape poverty and work towards a secure future. Our staff is comprised of local Ugandans who understand the social, cultural and political issues affecting their work.

In the Masindi, Kumi, Bukedea and Buliisa districts where we currently work we help the rural poor provide for their families and invest in business opportunities by giving them with the opportunity to save as members of Village Savings and Loans Assocoiations. Similarly our education projects look beyond the building of classrooms to the provision of school materials and sanitary materials as well as the training of teachers, School Management Committees, parents and the wider communities.
